Plan Your Trail Trip

If you’re ready to explore the art and culture along the trail, start right here. This tour guide offers everything you need to find your way, from a trail-specific map to photos and descriptions of the attractions.

We have provided a suggested driving route, but feel free to mix things up a bit, skip attractions or add your own along the way. The beauty of this tour is that it’s self-paced and self-directed. You decide how much time you want to spend exploring, which artists you want to meet and if you would like to take advantage of classes or workshops.

Consider doing a little planning before hitting the road.
Each attraction will be open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., year-round. All attractions offer additional hours as well. When to plan your trip depends on your personal preferences, including which attractions to visit and whether you feel up to a challenge of creating your own work of art. You are encouraged to plan in advance by calling each attraction or viewing their Web sites.

Each attraction has something different to offer.
At the bottom of each attraction’s listing, you will find short summary phrases that explain the activities and experiences you will find at each location.

Make a weekend of it!

Plan a day or two cruising the less-traveled lanes of Hendricks County. Enjoy the countryside scenery and be inspired by art, nature and culture on this self-paced, self-directed escape. Without stopping, traveling the 71-mile trail by the recommended route would take 2 hours, so be sure to plan for plenty of leisure time to relax, explore and enjoy the adventure.

It’s a perfect opportunity to shop for unique gifts, discover a new hobby and explore a part of this countryside you might never before have seen. For travel information click here.
